Our Story

Cedarmere Woods offers a unique setting for a peaceful stay for patients undergoing treatment at London hospitals.

Owners David and Roma-Lynn Gillis were professors at Fanshawe College for three decades, and have lived at Cedarmere for many years.  In 1984, in part to accommodate their parents, they added to their century home, creating a charming setting for retirement living. They were the administrators of this facility for 23 years.

David and Roma-Lynn took early retirement from Fanshawe College and—no longer having any elderly dependents living— dissolved their business. However, they enjoy good health, have lots of energy, and are willing to continue to share their beautiful home and grounds with others. This has prompted them to offer at Cedarmere Woods accommodation to out-of-town guests and hospital patients whose treatment brings them and family members to London.
